Our delightful, historic 17th-century Lakeland farmhouse with original oak beams is an ideal base for visiting the Lake District area, in particular Coniston and the surrounding Lake District. Swangs, is a picture postcard white washed cottage. It has been sympathetically renovated and furnished to the highest standards. Swangs is full of original features, cosy and comfortable. It has the added advantage of stunning views over the Coniston Old Man range of mountains and the Crake Valley.

The Cottage
Swangs, is a picture postcard white washed cottage. It has been sympathetically renovated and furnished to the highest standards. Swangs is full of original features, cosy and comfortable. It has the added advantage of stunning views over the Coniston Old Man range of mountains and the Crake Valley. Our cottage oozes character, style and an appreciation of the simple things in life! Swang means swamp or marsh and it is believed that our original farmhouse was built near marshland. Furthermore, the oak beams came from local ships in nearby Greenodd.
The AccommodationThe Location
Swangs Cottage is situated in a quiet, rural location in the heart of working farmland, just 3 miles from Coniston Water, in Lowick Green, standing in a row of 4 cottages on a private lane. The cottage has its own private parking for 2 cars and a lovely enclosed cottage garden with fields to the front and back. Lowick Green is a traditional village surrounded by farmland, farmed by local families throughout the ages. Lowick still hosts the annual Lowick show, an excellent display of local craft and produce and is actually located on the Cumbria Way. Lowick and nearby Sparkbridge were renowned for producing conical basketware.
